Therapy for Sleep Problems in London

Lying awake at 3 am with your mind racing. Dreading bedtime because you know you won't sleep. Getting through the day on caffeine and willpower. Poor sleep affects your mood, your concentration, your relationships and your health.

I am a BACP-accredited psychotherapist offering therapy in central London and online. Poor sleep is often linked to what's going on emotionally, such as stress, worry or low mood. Therapy can help you understand and ease what's keeping you awake.

Common sleep difficulties

  • Trouble falling asleep because you can't switch off

  • Waking in the night or too early and not getting back to sleep

  • Worrying about not sleeping, which makes it harder to sleep

  • Nightmares or disturbed sleep after a difficult experience

  • Feeling exhausted, irritable or foggy during the day

  • Relying on alcohol, substances or screens to wind down

How therapy can help

Sleep often suffers when something else needs attention: stress, anxiety, low mood, grief, relationship difficulties or past trauma. Over time, worry about sleep itself can become part of the problem.

In therapy we'll look at what's keeping your mind busy at night and where that comes from. We'll also look at the habits and patterns around your sleep, and at practical ways to help your body and mind settle in the evening.

As the underlying stress or anxiety eases, sleep often improves too, and better sleep makes everything else feel more manageable.
